ESPN “O” College Football

In case you missed it, here is what ESPN U’s College Football front page looked like for most of Monday. Script flipped? No. It’s going according to plan with Dixon and Stewart.

Stewart’s 65 Yards Don’t Bother Me

Stewart’s Line versus Houston: 14 carries, 65 yards (4.8 yard average), 0 TDs

Not exactly what us Duck fans were hoping for in the season opener, but to be honest, it doesn’t bother me much. If Johnson (68) and Dixon (141) had not picked up his slack on the ground, then I might be more concerned, but as long as the running game logs over 300 yards who cares who gets it?

On top of that, while we’d all love to see Stewart get national recognition, we’d probably rather see him get the national recognition while a senior at UO (instead of him heading to the pros after this year.) We’re going to need him next year while we welcome a new QB to the mix.
